How is Maroo different from Venmo or Zelle?

Maroo is as easy and simple to use as any payment app (similar to Venmo and Zelle), yet tailored to the wedding & events industry. Your vendor will choose how they want to be paid (ie credit card, debit card, or ACH) and your payment will process in 1-4 business days. There are NO daily limits. Bank transfers (ACH) are free to process on our platform, and all cards cost a flat 2.9% to process.

How much does it cost to use Maroo as a couple?

Maroo is free to use and there are no subscription fees. (Yes, you read that right!) It is free to process bank transfers (ACH). Credit cards and debit cards process at a flat 2.9% regardless of the type of card used.

How does Maroo make money?

Good question! We love transparency. Maroo makes money on payments processing. When payments happen with a card (be it debit or credit card), Maroo makes revenue. We don't charge for ACH/bank transfers and we are a free platform to use.

How long does it take for payments to process?

That depends on what type of payment method was used! If the payment method was a card, then that typically processes within 1-2 days. If it's a bank transfer, that can sometimes take a little longer with the average being 4 days.

Does Maroo have a system in place for payment reminders?

Yes! Maroo has a built-in automated payments reminder feature.

How secure is Maroo?

Maroo does not store any sensitive information on our servers (i.e. credit cards numbers and personal information such as SSN and DOB). We work exclusively with certified Level 1 PCI Compliant Service Providers (Stripe) to process payments.

Does Maroo support international payments?

Not yet! We're working on it though. Stay tuned within the next month or so for our new international credit card option.

How is Maroo different from Venmo or Zelle?

As a business, you choose how you want your clients to pay you, and then Maroo will process that payment straight to your business bank account within 1 business day. There are NO daily limits. Bank transfers (ACH) and debit cards are free to process on our platform, and credit cards cost a flat 2.9% to process. Maroo also works for making payments to other businesses and freelancers (ie your 1099s). Request to pay another business or freelancer, and when they accept your payment request, they get paid in 1 business day too–no fees for bank transfers! At the end of the year, we’ll send you the 1099s you need in order to prep your taxes. One more big difference? You can sync directly with your Quickbooks online. Any payment request you make on Maroo will automatically sync up with your Quickbooks. It’s as though Zelle or Venmo got a big business upgrade for the wedding & events world! 

How much does it cost to use Maroo as a business?

How does Maroo make money?

Maroo makes money in two ways: We make money on business-to-business (B2B) payments and our Pay Over Time feature. Your The Pay Over Time feature allows invoices to be split over 3, 6, or 12 months at 0% APR. The fee structure is as follows: 3 months / 5% fee, 6 months / 7% fee and 12 months / 10% fee.Maroo also offers the option to pay your subcontractors and your business bills via a credit card at a low and tax-deductible 2.9% fee.

How long does it take for payments to process?

Payments are processed within 1 business day. 

Does Maroo have a system in place for payment reminders?

Maroo has an automated payments reminder schedule. Maroo also offers a manual payment reminder option, should you choose to send reminders on your own to clients.

Does Maroo sync with any accounting software?

You can connect your Maroo account with your Quickbooks Online (QBO) account to ensure all invoices that you send to your clients are synced. 

How secure is Maroo?

Does Maroo support international payments?
