3 Ways to Avoid Burnout During Wedding Season

There is no denying that Spring 2022 is jam-packed for most wedding and event pros. Some creative partners would even say that the next 10 weeks may rival the busy fall season. Why? Who knows… but the one thing that is important to focus on is that you must avoid burnout! As a business owner moving into this busy wedding season, you need to be on your game in order to make it through in one piece. Don’t worry. We’re here to help. We’ve put together our top 3 tips for maintaining some sense of sanity these few months!

  1. Delete Social Media Apps

There’s no denying that all wedding pros feel the stress of social media. Whether it’s the feeling of “I need to post something” or the endless scrolling where hours of your life go by without any idea how. Here’s a seemingly crazy but serious suggestion: Delete all social media apps off your phone! Take a few weeks (or months if need be) to go quiet on social. You may be surprised at how little FOMO you feel once you’ve taken time away from it all.

Instead: Focus on your current clients and creative partners. And commit to sharing only your new events. For example, aim to post the previews only after you’ve received them from the photographer. In short, it’s more than okay to post less on social––especially if you’re busy!

  1. Automate your Payment Requests With Maroo

A big burden (especially during busy events season) is keeping track of payments. We probably don’t have to remind you that it can take hours to put together invoices and track down payment requests from clients (hours that no one has to spare these days). Enter shameless plug: With Maroo, you can set up all of your payment requests in one spot and schedule them out for your events all at once. Maroo will then send the reminder to your client when their payment milestones are due. No other work is needed on your end!

Maroo recently launched a B2B payment portal, making it much easier to pay your second shooters and freelancers quicker and more efficiently too!

  1. Leave Your Phone out of Your Bedroom

Repeat after us: The last thing you see before you close your eyes at night should NOT be your inbox. Repeat after us: The first thing you see when you open your eyes in the morning should NOT be your inbox.

It may be hard to believe, but your email can wait. By removing your phone from the bedroom, you’re statistically more likely to sleep better and feel better. That means more energy and stamina to get you through this crazy time. So remind yourself as often as needed that even if it’s just at bedtime, it’s healthy to disconnect from work!
